How long should I wear them each day?
Put them on in the morning and take them off before bed. That is the short version, and for most days it is all you need to know.
Why mornings
Compression works best when you put it on before your legs have swelled, not after. Getting them on first thing means you spend the day staying ahead of it rather than trying to catch up in the evening.
Building up
If you have never worn compression, you do not have to start with a full day.
| Day | Wear for |
|---|---|
| 1 to 2 | 4 to 6 hours. It will feel firm and unfamiliar. |
| 3 to 4 | Most of the day. Getting them on is easier by now. |
| 5 onward | Morning through evening. |
Take them off if
- Your toes go numb, tingle, or change colour
- You get pain rather than firm pressure
- The skin under them becomes irritated or broken
- They have left deep marks that are still there an hour later
Any of those means the fit is wrong. Email info@lumabelly.com and we will sort the size out.
Long days on your feet
A 12-hour shift is fine. If you are wearing them that long regularly, a second pair is worth having so one is always clean.
Not overnight. See can I sleep in them.
