What your first week feels like

Compression is not a product where you feel the benefit in the first ten minutes. Knowing that up front stops a lot of people from giving up on day two.

Days 1 to 2

Firm and unfamiliar. You will be aware of them. Getting them on takes a couple of goes while you learn the rolling technique. Four to six hours is a fine place to start.

This is the stage where people decide compression is not for them. It is worth pushing past.

Days 3 to 4

Putting them on gets noticeably easier. You stop thinking about them during the day. Most women say evenings feel less heavy by this point, even before anything looks different.

Days 5 to 7

This is when most women tell us they notice it. Legs feel lighter at the end of the day. Shoes tend to feel more like they did in the morning. The difference is usually in how your legs feel rather than a dramatic visual change.

What we are not going to tell you

We are not going to promise a number or a before-and-after photo. What compression reliably does is make swollen, heavy legs feel more manageable through a long day. How much of a difference that makes varies from person to person, and it depends on how much of your day you spend on your feet or sitting still.

If nothing has changed after a full week

Email info@lumabelly.com. It is often a sizing issue and we will swap them free. If it is not, your 30-day guarantee covers you.

If your swelling gets suddenly worse, is in one leg only, or comes with pain, warmth or redness, stop and contact your doctor or midwife. See when to call your doctor or midwife.
