What if my legs keep changing?
They will change. Calves and ankles tend to get larger as pregnancy goes on, and swelling usually peaks in the third trimester and in hot weather.
Buying for the pregnancy, not for today
If you are in your first or second trimester and your measurement sits near the top of a size, go up. You will grow into it. Buying for the leg you have this month is how people end up needing a second pair at 32 weeks.
Day to day changes are normal
Your legs are measurably bigger in the evening than in the morning. This is why we suggest measuring first thing. The socks are designed to work across that daily swing, so a pair that feels loose at 7am and snug at 7pm is behaving exactly as intended.
When the size has genuinely outgrown you
Signs that you need the next size up rather than just a firm morning:
- The cuff leaves a deep indentation that is still there an hour later
- They have started rolling down when they did not before
- You cannot get them past your calf without a fight
- Your ankles look more swollen at the end of a day wearing them than without
That last one matters. If the socks are making swelling worse rather than better, stop wearing them and email us.
